if we wanted to change the color of the blog post title (currently orange) to and the blog post title bar (currently Blue) where can we change this?
January 2nd, 2007 at 2:37 pm
All colors are controlled in the stylesheet.
You change the blog post title colors in this bit of code, color codes may be different depending on the color scheme you’re using.
.posttitle h2 a:link, .posttitle h3 a:link {
text-decoration: underline;
color: #9a2325;
}
.posttitle h2 a:visited, .posttitle h3 a:visited {
text-decoration: underline;
color: #393939;
}
.posttitle h2 a:hover, .posttitle h3 a:hover {
text-decoration: underline;
color: #ff0000;
}
This is where you change the blog post title bar color.
.postmetadata {
background: #393939;
color: #fff;
height: auto;
text-align: right;
padding: 1px 5px 1px 0;
margin: 0;
font-size: 0.8em;
}

Is there be a simple way to add my logo in the left area of the header, just to the left of the Title and Subtitle?
March 6th, 2007 at 9:55 am
I love the WP Colors blue\orange fixed width theme. It’s clean and easy to read with bright colors. However, I have no need for the AdSense stuff and commented it out of the code, but now I have a big empty space in the sidebar. I’ve been looking at the code trying to shrink the sidebar down to one column but can’t seem to find the right place. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Art, it would have to be recoded.
Bill, you just stick the image in the header template, beside the title and left align the image.
March 13th, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Beautiful, smart, easy to use …. this is a wonderful theme. Colleen, thank you so much. When you are rich and famous I hope you will remember your fans.
March 16th, 2007 at 11:07 pm
Colleen, nice work of art. Very impress of both the design and coloring. Looking forward for your new creation.
March 28th, 2007 at 12:19 pm
Hi Colleen, thanks for your beautiful themes. I’m using both this one and another of your WP colour themes for both my blogs. I love them for the clean look and it helps its SEO friendly too.
One little thing that bugs me is that the text doesn’t wrap around the images. Is there a way to correct this? I’d like for text to wrap around images some of the time and not to wrap at other times. Is there a way to do that?
Otherwise, keep up the good work!
March 28th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Hi Paris, yes this is possible.
In your image tag, when you create a new post, you have to add style=”float:left” or style=”float:right” depending which side you want the image on.
March 29th, 2007 at 12:44 am
Colleen: Thanks so much! It works a treat
Keep up the great work!
April 3rd, 2007 at 4:08 pm
Hi, Colleen, there is a different view between IE and FF. The sidebar is like a bit emm… maybe should take a look.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
Hi -
I’ve downloaded and am now using the blue-orange theme. Very nice! One question: If I decide to use one of the other color schemes (e.g red/black), can you just switch out a css file or does it require a total new install? I’ve customized sidebars, etc. and would like to avoid doing it again.
Thanks
April 13th, 2007 at 12:55 pm
Hello Tim, if memory serves me right, you can switch the stylesheet, but there’s graphics involved with different names based on color, you can right click on them in the demo and save them and upload over yours. Then in the template files if there’s a reference to an image, make sure it’s name is right, that should be all.

Is it possible to change the standard search box to a Google Adsense search box? Is it as easy as pasting the Google generated code into searchform.php?
April 20th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
I don’t know Raymond,you’d have to try it out and see. I would think removing what’s in searchform.php and replacing it with Google’s code would be ok.

Hi Colleen,
I just installed your theme in http://www.diary.mikeligalig.com I like it very much!
I don’t mind changing the code of the search box. But how can I put my own Adsense pub ID in the top bar. Today is my first time with Wordpress. Hope I’d hear an instruction from you.
Thanks again… God bless you!

Hi Ms Christina Bay,

May I ask you how to set up my own Adsense leaderboard banner like you did in your hotelsandtravel.org?
Thank you,

May 5th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Hi there,
I just found your themes, and as an avid wordpress user, I have to say your themes are the BEST LOOKING and MOST USEFUL I’ve found! Thank you so much for making them available for donation.
I have just installed the Lilac/Olive Fluid Width and I wonder if you could answer a sipmple question. I have filled in my Adsense ID in the three pages specified in the readme, however, the right-most skyscaper ads don’t show on my main page. If I click to an individual post, the right-most skyscraper ads do show. Is this how it’s supposed to be?
I have looked at some of the other commenter’s sites and these seem to show. I am using WP 2.0.5, and have installed the widgets plugin (although this is the first time with the widgets plugin), I’m guessing something may be awry here?
If you could shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks
Adam

Very great theme. I would like to switch the sidebar to the left hand side and am having difficult with the CSS. Any chance you could post that?
May 16th, 2007 at 4:50 am
It’s simply great design! I’ve been using it for quite sometime now.

thanks for the theme! God bless you!

Hi Colleen~
I’m in a bit of a fix with your theme. See, It looks awesome in Firefox, but not in IE. In IE, all formatting is stripped away. I get the same results even if I disable and reenable all my plugins. I’d appreciate your help with this. It just looks uber-terrible in IE.

Great lot of styles templates ,merci
October 24th, 2007 at 4:18 am
One of my top choices for my new website really. But it looks kinda inconsistent with IE, and a problem with images in blog entries. When an image is vertical longer than an blog entry’s text, the blog entry’s framing doesn’t look right.

hi,
I am using this theme. I would like to add a banner to my site.Is it possible to change the black baned with a JPG picture.
If yes, i ‘ll be glad if you can explain how i can do…
thank you
October 31st, 2007 at 4:55 pm
Yes it can be done, upload a new image and change it’s name in the css/template.
December 10th, 2007 at 10:03 am
Hi -
I am computer illiterate. After downloading and extracting your template, I’ve ended up with a bunch of files (archives, comments pop-up, header, links, searchform, skyscrapter, etc.) rather than a template. Your installation instructions – “upload theme to wp-content/themes” followed by “in your admin, go to Presentation and activate WP Colors, etc.,” are meaningless to me. I really don’t have a clue how to open the template.

I am using the WP colors theme and would like to add my flickr photos in a sidebar. I can upload photos to my blog, but it says that my theme is not widget compatible, although I thought this was. Is there a way to add my flickr photos as a sidebar with your theme?
January 21st, 2008 at 11:26 pm
How do I increase the font size for the title of my site in the WP colors. I want to make it bigger, but can only figure out how to change the font for the blog titles, but not the website title itself .
January 25th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Hey guys, I noticed something. I don’t think IE show that much of a difference in formatting, more so of a cache thing with IE. When I change the format with Firefox, it show immediately, but with Explorer it takes a couple of days to switch. Some tech person told me it had something to do with the browser caching things. It only happens with my computer at work, not at home. At home, it changes immediately.
–P.S. I fixed the font size problem, still trying to figure out how to do flickr in sidebar though.

Love your templates! I am trying to figure out how to add a Comment Bubble Picture next to the word “comments” after each post. Any Ideas??? Thank you very much.
February 14th, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Is there any way to allow readers to make comments on the pages? Although they can make comments on the posts, I’d like to be able to have comments on several pages as well.

My category and other sidebar info is running across my home page. It doens’t do it when I click on the post. only when I go to the home page. This just recently started. Do you know what’s wrong?
June 9th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
never mind. I figured it out. take out the “div”s surrounding the text in the post. Damn those divs.
Although you don’t give advice on here too often because of time, Kalina, you really should give people an option to “subscribe” to your personal helpdesk:). I’d certainly be willing to pay for it.

Hi, thanks for the lovely theme!
I inserted my publisher ID in the relevant files, but when I display the site, the ad text doesn’t fit into the box.
Can I change the depth of the box to anything I want, or do I have to use certain proportions.
You can view the site at http://www.bethpartin.com. There’s no content yet.
Thanks again for the beautiful theme!

Hi,
I was wondering what to do about the ads on your Lilac/Olive fluid theme. They seem to be running off the bottom of the ad. Do I need to resize the ad in the code?
By the way, it’s a beautiful theme. Thanks for making it.

Hi Colleen!
This Wordpress theme is absolutely stunning, I just have a few quick questions:
1. In attempting to change the links out, I have snooped around in sidebar.php and links.php,yet I am unable to change the Valid XHTML, XFN, and Wordpress links. I see that “get_links_list” is in the code- were we not provided with a links list we could change? I’m not an expert w/ php so I could just be looking in the wrong area. I attempted to change the links in the WP admin as well but no success there either.
2. I tried to add the script for a skyscraper Adsense ad but I was not seeing any changes – suggestions? I attempted to directly put it in the php file (like the sidebar, header). Do I need to ‘get’ the skyscraper.php instead?
I hope I worded everything clearly… I’d really appreciate a response.
Once again, I love the theme!!!

Dear Kalina Web Designs designers,
Thank you very much for creating so much beautiful templates for us to free use.
Is there a way put the 120*600 skyscraper at the left side of the sidebar? According to my experience if a skyscraper adsense ads close to one’s prime post contents, it does attract visitor’s attention.
I’d like to donate some bucks (yes, I will!) for your help via paypal if you offer me a hand. Thanks again

Hi Colleen.
I have downloaded the blue and orange fluid width and its intended specifically for use with some adsense sites I own.
Are you available to do a little handcoding for me? I want to setup a foundation blog which I would then duplicate over and over ( with different content of course )
Basically it would be mostly like the theme you already provided with a few plugins and links added and possibly bringing the right hand adsense column across a bit
You can reach me via the email link I provided when doing this comment.
By the way the plugin that allows me to view this comments appearnance in real time is terrific….what is that?
Thanks
