Kalina Web Designs Redesigned

Webmaster Community

I just recently completed a major site overhaul for my web design business, Kalina Web Designs. The site now uses Wordpress! I’m very excited about this as there will be some interactivity there now. Mainly I will use the blog for site updates, promotions, additions to the portfolio, stuff like that.

Make sure you check out the new design and let me know what you think of Kalina Web Designs’ new look. If you happen to be in need of web design services, just contact me there, our services are competitive and professional and served with a smile. :D

I like the design in itself, but to be honest, I don’t like the “bloggy” feel so much for a business/web design site. Maybe you could try putting the “pages” links across the top like before, maybe yellow text on green. OR Leave the pages links where they are, lose the “pages” heading, and relegate archives, categories and the paid links to the bottom of the page, leaving just the “reatain our services” block under the pages links. That way it would look less like a blog.

As far as the actual blog posts go, I really like the design. Why don’t you try displaying *only* the title and text (no post date, poster, categories, comments links ) only the text, with a link to “read more” where you could leave all that default wordpress info there.

I think that would make it look a bit more professional.

    Ok, off to bed now,
    g’nite.

Oh, and put the search box up at the top. People love a search box, if they don’t know what they’re looking for, or don’t know where to click they’ll gravitate right there.

This is not comment spam, I actually have one more constructive criticism here. (or suggestion or whatever)

Put a box at the top, right where the newest post goes, only make it static (hard-coded into the template), where you can put the regular blurb about what you do/ what the site offers - then below, say “latest news” and start off with the newest post.

    Just my suggestions. :)

    Wow, liking the new design.

Very crisp! Easy on the eyes, and easy to follow the structure of the site.

    Colleen ROCKS!

    Hi,

Just checking up to see what you’ve been designing lately. I love it! I’m a huge fan of anything simplistic and easy on the eye. I believe in the concept where a browser can say whether or not they like your site in 0.05 seconds and this definitely passed! :D

I did find a dead URL though after a bit of browsing at http://www.kalinawebdesigns.com/templates/

    Cheers,
    Tom
