Blog Themes Redesign

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

If you’re not new here, you’ll see we redesigned the site to have our own unique feel, we’ve also put our logo up at the top. :) I miss having a blog, so I may start one, I don’t know what to get for a domain though. Something new or could just use an old one I have.

Thank God the RunPHP plugin creator updated their plugin for Wordpress 2.1! I went and uploaded my new theme and also upgraded the blog to 2.1 and the plugin didn’t work, my theme pages were all php code. I went running off to see if there’s an upgrade to the plugin and sure enough there was, talk about lucky or else I’d be sitting here with php code on the pages and no way to download the themes.

Anyway, just wanted to note the new design. :)

Wordpress 2.1 Ella Released

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Another release, but this one sounds great!

Some features:

  • Autosave makes sure you never lose a post again.
  • Our new tabbed editor allows you to switch between WYSIWYG and code editing instantly while writing a post.
  • The lossless XML import and export makes it easy for you to move your content between WordPress blogs.
  • Our completely redone visual editor also now includes spell checking.
  • New search engine privacy option allows you take you to indicate your blog shouldn’t ping or be indexed by search engines like Google.
  • You can set any “page” to be the front page of your site, and put the latest posts somewhere else, making it much easier to use WordPress as a content management system.
  • Much more efficient database code, faster than previous versions. Domas Mituzas from MySQL went over all our queries with a fine-toothed comb.

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Recently a bug in certain versions of PHP came to our attention that could cause a security vulnerability in your blog. We’re able to work around it fairly easily, so we’ve decided to release 2.0.7 to fix the PHP security problem and the Feedburner issue that was in 2.0.6. It is recommended that everyone running WordPress 2.0.6 or lower upgrade to this new version.
